The Payroll & Application Specialist is part of the HR Shared Services Team.

This role is responsible for supporting the accurate preparation of the Payroll but also focusing on the digital transformation and improvements. Serves as a liaison with other departments, units or locations in the resolution of payroll or HR System problems. Recommends changes in method or procedures to improve the efficiency of the Shared Service Center. Our client is looking for an expert who can take AFAS Profit to the next level.


  • Process salary administration effectively in order to;
  • Reach monthly payroll closing deadlines;
  • Be in line with legislation, sector agreements and internal agreements;
  • Be comply with internal audit rules;
  • Provide reporting in time to companies;
  • Provide support to the HR teams in the resolution of employee issues;
  • Responds to the HR and Finance team inquiries related to Payroll. Triages, tracks and follows up to problem resolution;
  • Management of interfaces between AFAS Profit and other systems;
  • Management of parameters in AFAS Profit (payroll, HRIS, other);
  • Create new workflows to automate HR and Payroll processes.


  • Relevant Payroll degree (PDL and VPS) and proficient knowledge of HR and payroll processes;
  • 5 to 10 years of experience in a Payroll position;
  • AFAS Profit and AFAS Insite knowledge is an advantage;
  • Demonstrated strong organization skills to handle multiple tasks and meet scheduled deadlines;
  • Demonstrated analytical skills and attention to detail;
  • Proactive and self-starter mindset;
  • High level of integrity and self-awareness;
  • Interest in HRIS, data analytics and reporting;
  • Administrative, project management and problem-solving skills;
  • Fluent in Dutch and English in order to operate effectively at different levels within the organization.


  • Functie voor 40 uur, 32 uur is bespreekbaar; 
  • 25 vakantiedagen en 12 ADV-dagen;
